Alvin Mihigo

Member of the Rwandan Bar Association, East Africa Law Society and an Arbitrator to Kigali International Arbitration Center, Alvin has expertise in policy and bill drafting, securities, shareholders agreements, analysis of procurement procedures, banks restructuring, privatization of financial institutions, risk management, corporate governance, training in bank regulations, and debt recovering, conveyance, etc.

He was actively involved in assisting renowned international organisation in grant management (Gavi, the vaccine alliance) and designing justice projects (United Nations Institute for Training and Research). As a banker he was the regulatory and compliance manager and lead a team that developed Rwandan banking law 2008 and regulations, micro finance institutions law of 2009 and regulations, anti-money laundering and combatting terrorism law.

As a consultant he had been involved in various corporate and advisory services in collaboration with various international consultancy firms (references are available upon demand) where he assisted in due diligence assignment, valuation of companies, training etc.

As an advocate Alvin has advised numerous companies in corporate, labor law, financial, energy and mining law issues. He has represented also different clients in court and in arbitration procedures.
He has excellent command of French, English, Kinyarwanda and Swahili.
